Rapanui up for RSPCA award
Ethical clothing brand Rapanui have been nominated by animal welfare charity RSPCA for a Good Business Award.
The surfwear company, founded by brothers Martin and Rob Drake-Knight, was recognised for their traceability and eco-labelling initiatives that were designed to help people shop with a conscience.
Says Martin: “If we can improve traceability and communication people can make informed decisions as shoppers. As a brand we want to mix eco with trend and inspire people to think about the environment in wider lifestyle choices, as fashion has a unique power to influence people’s lives. If we can succeed in using fashion as a power of good, for sustainability, we will have done our job.”
The winners will be announced at RSPCA Good Business Awards ceremony at One Marylebone, London on October 6.
