Mad props to the brides who go bold and wear couture-style gowns, like those in Jason Matlo’s latest collection.

When all 26 of us finally arrived at the Panda Inn for dinner, everyone was starving and the staff couldn’t roll out the appetizers quick enough! MmmMMMmm. Can I tell you how tasty Panda Inn is?? Seriously yummy, affordable Chinese.

This kind of food does not really exist in Switzerland , so Mr. Funnel Cake and I inhaled the American treat. Just thinking about it now is making me really hungry and sad because I have to wait until my next US visit to enjoy it again!

We moved from appetizers to the main courses, which Mama Funnel Cake had ordered in advance so that we didn’t have to worry or deal with the madness of 26 people ordering food. I h

One skill that is of particular interest to burlesque fans and performers is that of the tassel-twirl. Watching a performer twirl the tassels on her pasties after revealing her mostly uncovered breasts is a skill which awes the viewer. When done well, a tassel twirl is something of a sport, a sexual tease, and a spectacle all in one.

The original “Queen of the Tassel Tossers” was Boston’s Sally Keith. Although little is known of her origins, she emerged in the 1940′s as one of Boston’s great burlesque dancers. As the headlining act of the Crawford House’s Theatrical Bar in the rough and tumble Scollay Square, Sally Keith was certainly one of the best twirlers to grace the stage.

Not all champagnes ARE champagnes. You see, many a company likes to disguise their champers with fancy labels showing swirls and signature fonts and text half translated in French, but they are only sparkling wines. Lets indulge ourselves in a little history lesson to clearly understand the uniqueness of this divine drink.

Ahphotographers. I LOVE them! I wish I could be of them, but I most definitely am not (I havent even taken my new DSLR out of the box because it terrifies me).

Instead, I collaborate with them every chance I get. In this case, with Vancouver-based wedding and portrait photographer and all-round sweetheart Sherry Lu. Shes a superstar, no?

We shot a garden party-themed series in Queen Elizabeth Park this past weekend. The sun was out (hence the flare!) and youd never guess this was taken in the parking lot, would ya? Youd also never guess my vintage blouse used to look like this, would ya?

The latest images from the Danish curvy retailer have me wanting to write a letter simply stating: You get it. Thank you. The pieces are sleek, edgy and unlike anything offered in Canada. I am partial to wearing all black and well, this collection is heavy on that with a little grey thrown into the mix. If you prefer more colour, every piece would look amazing with a bold, bright shoe, bangles or statement necklace.

Weddings allow you to do crazy things, like order 15 yards of bright yellow felt on the internet, without really thinking about how much fabric that truly is.

This came to my office a few days ago. I thought it was a carpet at first. From now on, I’m making sure to triple-check my math so I don’t accidentally buy something the size of a small child.

The felt is for the bunting I’m making for the tent. I could have got away with half the amount of fabric, if not less, but it was on sale and I have no concept of measurements, so now I need to figure out what to do with the rest of it. Lucki
